Cascada is an award-winning German eurodance group. They are most famous for their hit singles "Everytime We Touch" which won them a World Music Award in 2007 as well as becoming the group's first number one single, "What Hurts the Most" which stormed the charts in 2008, and "Evacuate the Dancefloor" which recently became a UK number one. So far the group has sold an estimated 13 million copies of their three albums worldwide. Cascada consists of English-German singer Natalie Horler, and Record producers DJ Manian and Yanou. Group Members Natalie Horler Natalie Horler was born on September 23, 1981. As the front line singer, she is often presented as Cascada, as opposed to the entire band. When she was just 16, she worked for a number of various DJs. She provided vocals for dance act 2 Vibez with their song "Sometimes", which was released on October 8, 2004. Eventually, she met Yann Peifer and Manuel Reuter. Horler was born in Bonn, Germany. Horler's parents are English, thus she speaks fluent English with an English accent and states that she has enjoyed a 'very English upbringing'. Manian Manuel Reuter, known professionally as DJ Manian, is a German producer, trance DJ, label owner of Zooland Records. He works alongside fellow DJ Yanou to produce the music and create the sounds. DJ Manian has produced a number of singles under various pseudonyms, and maintains a number of different musical projects, including Tune Up! (with Yanou, now defunct), Bulldozzer, M.Y.C., Ampire, Liz Kay. Manian's songs often feature on the infamous Clubland compilation CDs.. He is well known for his track "Welcome To The Club". Manian stated on his twitter that he is working on his upcoming album and single Ravers in the UK. Yanou Yann Peifer, known professionally as Yanou, is a German trance musician and producer. He collaborated with DJ Sammy on the chart-breaking hit "Heaven" with vocalist Do. He produces music for Cascada alongside DJ Manian and Horler. He has ended Everytime We Touch with his signature "Candlelight Mix" of the title track and Perfect Day with a Candlelight Mix of What Hurts The Most. Music Everytime We Touch (2004?2007) Cascada has experienced mainstream success in the United Kingdom and the United States almost a year after releasing their second American single, "Everytime We Touch", which interpolates the chorus of a 1992 Maggie Reilly song of the same name. In total, eight singles were released from the album, four of which have been released in the United Kingdom: "Everytime We Touch", "Truly Madly Deeply", "Miracle" and "A Neverending Dream". "Everytime We Touch" rose to the number one spot when it was released, in various countries, including the US Dance Chart. It remained at number one in Ireland for several weeks. "Everytime We Touch" was the best selling dance song of 2006. Despite receiving a number of negative reviews, "Truly Madly Deeply" (the follow up single) also became a huge success. The third release was "Miracle", which became another No. 1 for the group in some areas of Europe and received mainstream chart success in the UK. The song is also one of the best selling songs in Swedish History. Early on, many reviews of Cascada's debut single "Everytime We Touch" branded them as a one hit wonder. Cascada became the 4th best selling female artist of 2007, and were only only beaten by global successes Leona Lewis, Amy Winehouse and KT Tunstall. Perfect Day (2007?2009) Horler first announced that Cascada were working on their second album during a Japanese interview on July 2006, which was posted on their blog on MySpace. The worldwide lead single, "What Hurts the Most", was released in late 2007 and early 2008, along with its B-side, a cover of Wham!'s "Last Christmas". On June 30, 2008, it was announced that the second single to be released in America will be "Faded" which appears only on the American version of Perfect Day. "Because the Night" became available as a digital download on this date as well, and received a physical release on August 4, 2008. In the UK, a Platinum edition of Perfect Day was set to be released on October 20, 2008, which was to feature the American tracks and a DVD with live performances from Clubland Live 2008, Horler's favorite Cascada music videos, an exclusive interview with her, a photo gallery and an acoustic performance of "Another You" in the studio with Yanou on piano. It was featured on several websites, but since the release date, it has been listed as 'Out of Stock'. There was no further word about the album being released, and it was later canceled. In early January 2009, however, Clubland TV broadcasted clips from the Clubland Live Tour, with performances from Scooter, Ultrabeat, Darren Styles and N-Trance. It was suggested that the performances of Cascada were those which were supposed to be included on the Platinum Edition of Perfect Day. The song "Perfect Day" was released as a CD maxi single in North America on February 17, 2009. "Because The Night" was not released in North America; it was replaced by "Faded" there. Evacuate the Dancefloor (2009?present) On April 10, 2008, Horler announced on her official blog that work on the third album would soon commence and that the album would be released in 2009. Jo Whiley announced on her Radio 1 show that Coldplay's Chris Martin will work with Cascada, but this was later confirmed false by Horler herself. Producer Yanou has confirmed that the new single and album will be released around June time and also stated there will be no cover versions on the third album. Evacuate the Dancefloor was released on July 6 in the UK and Germany. The lead single of the album is called "Evacuate the Dancefloor", and released on June 29, 2009. Currently, the single is the top downloaded from iTunes in the mid-week charts, leading over competition from Michael Jackson whose sales rose significantly after his death. On Thursday May 28, an album launch party was held in London, where Horler performed tracks off the new album; "Breathless", "Draw the Line" and "Dangerous". "Breathless" and "Dangerous" have a typical hands-up "Cascada style", while "Draw the Line" is a ballad. On Friday June 5, Cascada relaunched their website with a new look for the new album. Horler will also make appearances in nightclubs across the globe in the next coming months. All appearances will help promote the release of the album Evacuate the Dancefloor. Previews of the album began to appear on YouTube on June 23. The album has a completely different feel to the previous two. Different basslines and new instrument sounds contrast to the traditional style of Cascada of which was the only styling used in previous songs. Horler stated in a recent interview that her favourite tracks from the album are "Fever" and "Draw the Line". On July 17, it was announced that Cascada would be the opening act for Britney Spears' The Circus Starring: Britney Spears tour, at the O2 World in Berlin, Germany on July 26, 2009. On July 29, Horler said on her twitter page that she had a videoshoot on the following day, it was not confirmed which single the videoshoot was for, but has been confirmed by Horler herself as "Fever", it will be released in Germany only in October 2009. On September 18, 2009 Zooland Records uploaded the video to their youtube account and can now be viewed by everyone. Elsewhere, the second single from the album was also confirmed by Horler in a concert in Ireland in August. It will be "Dangerous", which was suggested, because a small clip of the video featured in the television advert for the album "Evacuate the Dancefloor". Although, in an interview with Horler , when she was asked about the second single, she said she had to keep things quiet at that time. The video was officially released on 17 August 2009 by Cascada's UK Record company, All Around the World (record label). It is now available to view on YouTube and on Cascada's website. It will be released as a 2-Track CD Single, and digitally on 12 October 2009
